Acrylic on Panel, 50 x 40 cm
A symbolic group of Paola Minekov’s paintings based on various human experiences and emotions is named after this particular artwork. “Undercurrents” explores the invisible, but detectable energies, both positive and negative, that constantly flow between two people in a relationship. As an embodiment of a very complex set of sentiments, this painting stands at the forefront of a deeply contemplative, visceral body of work.
As it represents two sides of the same circumstance, the composition in this piece is softly divided into two segments. Both of them are described with pale shades of blue, green and white, uniting and disconnecting through the layers of meaning.
